In this development, Russell Property Group invested significantly in modernizing an existing 11-story apartment block located in a prominent position in the heart of the CBD with views overlooking the Avon River to the North, and to the Port Hills looking South.

This unique project was split into three key phases:

1. Fabrication and installation of 6 propping towers to allow the building to be cut
through the ground floor with Tectonus devices and shear-keys installed.
2. Strengthening of the existing building and adding additional floor space to the
Penthouse level.
3. Tying the building back into the basement car park through a large lattice/truss frame.

Following a number of successful projects, with this project following directly behind the completion of the YMCA upgrades, Dominion awarded this contract to W&E with the knowledge and first-hand experience of our skills and capability to deliver.
During each phase of the construction project W&E worked closely with Russel from Pheonix Consulting, but most critical was the initial phase involving the careful surveying of the structure and precise installation of 6 propping towers capable of taking the full weight of the upper floors of the building.
