Welding & Engineering were engaged to complete a 3000m2 warehouse build with adjoining offices. The Warehouse featured 44 meter single-span portals with detailed camber pre-sets. The roof structure was partially assembled on the ground (braced bays) prior to completing two tandem lifts.

Welding & Engineering were engaged by Hanham & Philp to complete this build, having successfully completed several smaller to medium sized builds for H&P over the previous 12 months in a trust building exercise that demonstrated our focus on efficient and safe erection practices – with a strong focus on fabrication quality and compliance with AS/NZS 5131.

The Warehouse build represented the first design-and-build completed by Hanham & Philp and Engenium. The unsupported portal spans presented a significant design challenge, with many heavy splice-connections, coupled with high densities of flange and web doublers about the portal knees. Due to the loads at these connections, a high level of Ultrasonic Testing was required to demonstrate complete penetration of welds and the absence of defects/inclusions.
